The Best Friends™ philosophy is all about the art of friendship, and the benefits of sharing good times together. Volunteering your time and talents with someone living with memory loss is such a rewarding experience.
“The best part of being a Best Friends’ volunteer is not the four hours we spend with our friends, although it doesn’t get much better than that. It is knowing, through our training and experience, we have the ability to go out into the community and help so many others facing the daunting journey of Dementia.”
At the heart of the Best Friends™ Approach is the understanding that relationships are fundamental to care. Empathy, respect, support, trust and humor – the essential elements of friendship. This allows aging adults to live with dignity and purpose.
The care and services offered at the BFADC support adults who may need assistance with tasks of daily living. Participants enjoy the company of peers and meaningful activities within our safe, home-like environment alongside experienced professionals.
The Best Friends™ Approach is based upon building relationships. Our team learns the life stories of those in our care. Essentially, they become “Best Friends.” The result is our participants enjoy meaningful activities and truly fulfilling days.
